PROPOSAL
To create an impact campaign along side our series that will bring attention to the needs of all Native American communities across the nation. Our main goal is to begin to wake people up in terms of understanding and respecting native culture and heritage and to being a part of solutions.
We are honored to already be discussing these issues and more with the Blackfeet nation in Montana and the Mi'kmaq in Florida. We are currently working with Lakota and Cherokee in the Pacific NW and Navajo in Texas and New Mexico. And there are many more that we are planning to reach out to and work with connecting resources and shed some light on their needs.
Our impact campaign will help us to build a buzz and platform for people that don’t otherwise know how to be a part of the change that needs to come for native American communities to be stable and have a quality of life. We also want to collaborate and learn from other native American filmmakers. Shadow Walkers is designed to give a true glimpse into the world that is very rarely seen and give some respect to why native traditions and practices are kept private and secure from degradation. We understand the importance of it remaining sacred and will work closely with Native American's to ensure we portray everything authentically. That is why we will start each day on set with a native prayer and a giving of thanks to instill in everyone that we are doing this with the blessing of the elders and land upon which we stand.
SYNOPSIS
In a world already fraught with war, famine, catastrophic climate change, depleted natural resources, and global economic crisis, could it get any worse? When a Nasa Astro Physicist Geneticist discovers unknown DNA on a piece of meteorite, his world gets turned upside down and his secret becomes the footsteps in the dark and the whispers on the wind as he begins to experiment on himself and create a mysterious connection to a being he slowly learns are the missing link in our human existence. While the government hunts him and he hunts for the answers, his wife falls pregnant to their child, Omega Tanner.
After Omega’s birth, Bill Tanner turns to Native Americans for answers as he knows they hold valuable and sacred knowledge that he knows he must learn in order to understand his future . After her mother dies, Omega becomes one of Bill's central focuses. Omega’s life takes a twist when her father is shot down in front of her at 13 and she must continue on the journey of unravelling the mystery without him. What she discovers is beyond what any of them ever imagined. As things spiral out of control, Omega turns to nature and while there, is brought by means of a native boy to a Native American medicine man and Chief for help and healing. With one foot in this world and one foot in another, she learns that she may be something even she has not imagined, and that she may have more in common with these other worldly beings than anyone else on the planet. Omega not only encounters government operatives but also their leading emissary, who is also so much more than he seems. Omega is in a race to learn her father’s secrets and find out who she is and what part she plays in all this.
Omega quickly realizes that she is not only being sought after by humans but also by others that are other worldly and have even more devious designs on the knowledge she may hold and the of who or what she is. What hunts her is an ancient Native creature, the likes of which she has even fathomed.
Along the way, she discovers the true meaning of humanity and a greater understanding of reality and that we are not alone. In this sci-fi action adventure thriller, Omega must learn to allow those who fight for not only her, but for all those that have gone missing in a shadow world just out of their reach, as their existence depends on it. Omega finds unlikely allies as she pushes the boundaries of life as she knows it, to discover realities within realities and a peoples that know how to harness the power of mother Earth herself. As Omega awakens to her purpose and as she starts to be exposed to the Native American ways of the sacred, the spiritual, and the essence of what it means to be connected to all things, she is left with the struggle of conquering her own inner barriers and limitations as she begins to form bonds and forge a new path. As she begins to transform into something more than human, Omega learns the secrets of the shadow world and prepares for the unseen battle she may have to face, that just might have her questioning her humanity. But she is not alone, she now has The Shadow Walkers.....
